Meet Us.

Welcome! We are the “Kramer” and “Walker” of Kramer and Walker Counseling, but you can call us Catherine and Lori. As former co-workers, we discovered that a shared set of values - creativity, empowerment & self-determination - drove our work with youth and their families. We also discovered a shared vision to build a practice dedicated to the unique mental health needs of children and adolescents. Launched in 2024, we are here to work with youth ages 4 to 21 years old living in the Capital Region.

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a decade of experience working as a therapist with children, adolescents and families. I hold a Master of Social Work and a Doctorate in Social Welfare, both from the University at Albany, SUNY.

I am passionate about supporting young people not only through challenges, but also by helping them to recognize and build on their strengths. By emphasizing strengths, fostering supportive relationships, and promoting healthy decision-making, I strive to guide young people toward becoming their best selves.

Rather than focusing solely on problems or diagnoses, I work collaboratively with families to nurture each child’s resilience, creativity, and unique voice. I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches blended with a warm, relational approach aimed at creating a safe space where youth feel seen, heard, and valued. I use Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am currently working on becoming a Registered Play Therapist.

Whether it's navigating life transitions, mental health challenges or self-esteem issues, I focus on helping youth build the inner resources they need to flourish.

Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has spent the last decade working exclusively with children, adolescents and families. After receiving my Master of Social Work at the College of Saint Rose, I focused my work to specialize in providing therapy services to children and youth who have experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, teen dating violence and other challenging life experiences.

I am committed to providing therapeutic care that is developmentally appropriate, person- centered, trauma informed, and LGBTQ+ affirming. I am trained in Sand Tray Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Progressive Counting as well as other evidence based techniques. I am currently working towards my Registered Play Therapist Certification.

I believe that children and teens see and understand the world in a way that gives them unique opportunities for growth and healing. My goal as a therapist is to assist young people in utilizing their current strengths and support systems to overcome challenging situations and become the best versions of themselves.

Let us help you find care that's right for your child.
