Approach

We provide holistic therapeutic services to children and adolescents to enable them to discover their strengths, assets and talents.

  • In collaboration with youth, and their trusted adults, we provide individual therapeutic services that are person-centered, trauma-informed and developmentally responsive to the needs of young people.

  • Our therapeutic and development groups provide youth with structured peer interactions for learning, connection and exploration.

  • We empower adult caregivers to be facilitators of their child’s growth through targeted support groups and skill-building workshops.

“It’s the things we play with and the people who help us play that make a great difference in our lives. ”

- Fred Rogers

Our Services Are:

  1. Developmentally Responsive

Childhood and adolescence are unique developmental stages where the job of a young person is to learn and grow through play and risk-taking. We celebrate the opportunities of this time of life and center its priorities in our work. This means recognizing that exploring identity, making connections, and developing competences must be prioritized in therapy.

2. Strengths-Based

Youth have inherent strengths that can be utilized to promote their own healing and growth when given the opportunity to do so. Barriers to psychological or emotional functioning do not define a young person.

3. Collaborative

As youth grow, caretakers grow alongside them. Rather than “fix” youth, our approach emphasizes collaboration with trusted adults to create environments that help youth thrive. Our commitment to collaboration also extends to youth who are active partners in our work.

4. Transformative

We focus on interventions that empower and propel youth to become the fullest versions of themselves. Though emotional support is part of that process, we aim to work toward transformation.
